Hudson Community Living is a pioneering nonprofit organization dedicated to providing supportive, independent living options for adults with developmental disabilities. Our mission is to create a vibrant community where residents can live safely, thrive in their personal growth, and enjoy fulfilling lives alongside their peers. Located in a neighborhood close to the heart of Hudson, our unique community is designed to empower residents with access to the community, employment, volunteer opportunities, and social activities, all within a supportive environment that feels like home.

Our Story
“Who will care for my child when I’m no longer able to?”
For many parents of adults with developmental disabilities, this question is never far from their minds. Families want their loved ones to have more than a place to live, they want them to have meaningful friendships, opportunities for independence, a healthy routine, and a community where they can thrive.
Hudson Community Living was created to provide that opportunity.
Founded on the belief that every person deserves both independence and belonging, HCL is an intentional community where adults with developmental disabilities can live in their own homes while building lasting friendships and participating fully in community life.

HCL was built by families who saw a gap in what was available for their loved ones and decided to do something about it. Not another group home. Not a clinical care facility. Something new: an intentional neighborhood designed from the ground up around joy, friendship, and real independence.
Located close to the heart of Hudson, Ohio, our community gives residents access to a vibrant town, employment and volunteer opportunities, and a social life that extends well beyond campus.
Today, HCL is more than housing. It's a place where residents build confidence, families find peace of mind, and lifelong friendships are formed every day.

Built differently, from the ground up.
HCL isn't modeled after anything else, because nothing else quite like it existed.
Real homes, not shared rooms
Residents live in their own private two-bedroom cottage with a roommate. Full kitchen, in-unit laundry, private bedroom and full bathroom. Everything that makes a place feel like yours.
Residents choose their own support
HCL does not provide caregiving services. Residents and families have complete freedom to select, change, and direct their own support providers by maintaining full autonomy over their care.
A neighborhood where friendships actually form
Daily programming, shared meals, outings, and a vibrant Clubhouse create the conditions for real, lasting friendships. Residents don't just live near each other; they know each other.
Safety woven into community life
Keypad entry, emergency response systems, on-site Resident Assistants, and a connected neighborhood provide a layer of security that feels like care.
Connected to Hudson, not isolated from it
Regular community outings, volunteer opportunities, local events, and a location close to the heart of Hudson keep residents engaged with the broader community.
