HCL is currently full, and that's a reflection of the community we've built together. We maintain an active waitlist for families who are planning ahead, and we encourage you to connect with us early.
Our admissions process is designed with one goal in mind: making sure HCL is truly the right fit for your loved one, and for our community. We know this is one of the most important decisions a family makes, and we're here to guide you every step of the way.

We've designed our process to be straightforward, transparent, and family-friendly from start to finish.
Initial Inquiry
Reach out to our Community Director by email to schedule an inquiry call and fill out our inquiry form. This first conversation is informal and we'll get to know a little about your loved one, answer your initial questions, and help you understand whether HCL might be a good match.
Campus Tour
We invite you and your loved one to visit HCL in person. Visit the Clubhouse, meet staff and residents, and get a real feel for daily life here. The tour is also an opportunity for our team to meet your loved one and learn more about their needs and personality.

If HCL feels like the right fit, we'll invite you to complete a formal application. This includes background information about your loved one's history, needs, support arrangements, and goals. Supporting documentation will also be requested at this stage.
Application Review
Our team reviews completed applications to identify any questions, and determine next steps. We consider each applicant individually and there is no one-size-fits-all checklist. We'll follow up with families directly once our review is complete.
Waitlist & Move-In
Approved applicants are placed on our waitlist until a cottage becomes available. When a unit opens up, we'll contact families to confirm interest, complete a financial review, and schedule a move-in date. On move-in day, we walk new residents and families through an orientation to help everyone feel at home right from the start.
A note about our waitlist
HCL is a small, intentional community that many residents choose to call home for years, and often for a lifetime. Because of this, availability is limited, and there is no guaranteed timeframe for waitlist families. We encourage families who are interested to begin the inquiry process early, even if a move isn't imminent. Being on the waitlist costs nothing and ensures you'll be considered when a cottage becomes available. The earlier you connect with us, the better we can plan together.
