A few weeks ago, Hudson Community Living opened its doors to families, friends, and neighbors for a series of Open House events, and what a week it was! The energy, excitement, and sense of belonging that filled our homes and clubhouse reminded us why we began this journey: to create a safe, supportive, and joyful community where adults with developmental disabilities can live, grow, and thrive.

Sharing Our Vision

Guests toured our homes, explored the clubhouse, and saw firsthand the spaces that are filled with laughter, friendship, and everyday living. Each conversation was an opportunity to share our mission and vision, joyful living with lifelong friends, and to connect with others who value acceptance, kindness, and inclusion.

Building Community

One of the most powerful parts of the week was the sense of community. Parents shared stories, residents met new friends and old friends , and supporters offered their encouragement. Together, we celebrated not just buildings, but the future we are building inside them: a future full of connection, opportunity, and belonging.

A Heartfelt Thank You

We extend our deepest gratitude to the many volunteers who gave their time and energy to make the Open House a success. Thank you to Mayor Jeff Anzevino and City Manager Thomas Sheridan for honoring us with their presence at the Ribbon Cutting, and to Casey Weinstein and the Ohio Senate for honoring HCL on it’s Grand Opening! To everyone who joined us – your support brings our mission to life and helps ensure that Hudson Community Living will be a place where joy is shared daily.

Looking Ahead

As we move into fall, we are more committed than ever to creating a community filled with friendship, inclusion, and joy. We invite you to continue walking with us as we grow, whether by volunteering, becoming a monthly donor, or simply spreading the word about our mission.

At Hudson Community Living, our homes are built—but our story is only beginning.
